NOTE: This story is meant to be an inspiration from The Shadow Reader's creepypasta "Otter's sickness". Just wanna make that clear as day.

Mao Mao is a newly released cartoon on Cartoon Network. It is about to enter Season 2 once the coronavirus vanishes, but I decided to see if any lost media was already existant of this show. Sure enough, there actually is... but it's not meant to be a normal episode. It was meant to be a sequel to "Sick Mao", which is regarded to be a banned episode now due to the coronavirus.

I am a friend of Parker Simmons, and he likes to share what types of stories he likes to make for his series. He always manages to intrigue me with his ideas... but one day, he told me about an episode called "Adorabat's sickness", which was strangely canceled, due to how Cartoon Network likes to make all their cartoons nowadays very weird. However, Mao Mao seems to be the only one to avoid this type of issue, except this one time.

Apparently Parker thought the episode's plot was too dark as well, so he ultimately scrapped it for those two reasons. I was sad, but I understood why he would do that. But he managed to animate the entire thing, and gave me a Blank disc containing the episode. I was happy, and thanked him, shook his hand and left after waving goodbye. Once I got home, I decided to check the disc for scratches like I usually do to discs I buy at Goodwills, or other places like those. And sure enough, there was 1 slim scratch on the bottom. Fortunately, I had a disc-fixing solution at my house I made myself, and used it on the disc. And somehow, the disc was fixed after applying a thin layer to the crack.

I put it into my DVD player once I fixed it. I turned on my HDTV, and sat down on the sofa as the disc started. Surprisingly, the intro was in black in white. I was confused as to why it was like that... Yet again, it could've been an error while burning the disc, so... I just shrugged it off and resumed watching. The intro was 1 semitone lower, and I was able to detect that once the singer started saying her lines for the intro. The show's title screen, for some reason, was missing. Might've been another burning error, for all I knew. It's happened to me a couple times when transferring my Sparta Remixes to DVDs. Sometimes, the visuals would freeze on the DVDs I made, yet the audio would resume completely normally. I kept watching, and the title for the episode came up with white-and-blue text in a black background.

The episode started out with Mao Mao fighting some type of Bear-Cat-Dragon monster thing that was threatening his town. Also, the color was normal again, so I might've been right about the black and white parts being burning errors. Mao finished off the monster, but in a rather graphic tone. He sliced the monster into tiny pieces, yet there was absolutely no blood, as if the monster was one of the jelly monsters from earlier in the series. Adorabat then flies up to Mao and congratulates him, like her normal self. "You did it Mao!", she yelled excitedly... But immediately after that, she sneezed a bunch of times... Like 12 times in 7 seconds. Mao Mao noticed samething was wrong right away as Adorabat fell to the ground looking rather pale. "Adorabat? You okay?", Mao asked, worried. No response for a few seconds, but I could hear Adorabat start to cough.

"Oh no, not again!", Mao Mao yelled, now with a scared look on his face. He put an ice bag on Adorabat's head and put a thermometer in her mouth to get her temperature... but somehow, her temperature was normal. Mao Mao was still worried, as he thought something very bad was happening. Mao Mao immediately took Adorabat home and rushed her to her bed, and put her there carefully. Badgerclops walked in and asked "Mao Mao, why did you run in so fast like that?". Mao sighed and said "Badgerclops, this is bad... very bad... I think Adorabat is sick... Again". Badgerclops's eyes immediately grew wide with shock. "Wait- really?", He asked concernec. "Yes... But this time... He might not make it...", Mao said shedding a tear.

I paused the episode right there, since I wanted to grab something quick to eat though. I went to the kitchen and made me a bologna sandwich, and got me some tea to drink before going back to resume the episode. I was rather hungry at that time, so I figured that I should get a snack right quick. I pressed play to resume the episode. But it cut to a "3 Hours Later" time card that was done similar to a SpongeBob time card. Y'know, the ones with the Tartarsauce.erc font? yeah, that type of time card. 5 seconds later, it cut to Mao Mao at the hospital with Adorabat. Mao was looking rather sad at this point. Adorabat was no longer conscious and the monitor that checked her heart rate was going only 30 BPM, which was what was worrying Mao a lot.

"Adorabat…", Mao began to say. "I- I'll miss you. You were one of the best teammates I ever had. I hope you fly up into the beautiful place in the sky...". Mao Mao then put his hand on her head and started to pet her gently, trying to hold back his tears. At that moment... I heard a flatline. Adorabat was gone now... And honestly, I broke down into tears at that moment. Adorabat was my favorite character from the show, and seeing her go just outright broke my heart. It broke Mao's heart too, as he too was crying. The episode then faded to black for 10 seconds, before going to the next scene.

Mao was standing in front of a tombstone, holding a bouquet in his hands. He said "Here Adorabat, I wanted you to have this, but... Now that you're gone... I'll place it here to honor you. I'll miss having you with us, and you were one of my best friends... I'll see you soon, I promise". He put the flowers on top of the tombstone and started mourning. It then cut to the front of the tombstone, which read "R.I.P Adorabat, greatest sidekick to ever live. 2011-2019". After that, the credits played, but in the same white text and black background as before. The episode ended there.

I basically cried myself to sleep... and in the morning, I woke up and decided to put the DVD somewhere safe, just to make sure no one finds it. Sure it's a sad episode, but I want to be safe and try to avoid copyright. Anyway... I better go make a tribute to her... while I still can. I'll see you again when I have more lost media from this show to share... which might take a while. But until then, stay safe out there, ok? Goodbye...
